2018 PRC Monitoring Program
The 2018 information package for the program to export BC Cherries to People’s Republic of China will be available by March 13. It will be emailed to everyone who took part in 2017. If you did not export cherries to China in 2017 and would like to receive a copy of the application form, please send an email directly to firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on the email list.
This year's application must be submitted directly to the CFIA, with a duplicate copy of the application and payment information forwarded to the BC Cherry Association. The deadline for the application and full payment to be received is Thursday March 29, 2018. (BC Tree Fruits Growers' deadline is two days earlier on Tuesday March 27, 2018.)
Any grower interested in taking part in this program must attend the one of the 4 mandatory CFIA training sessions that will be held at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Summerland Research and Development Centre (formerly known as AAFC- PARC), at 4200 Highway #97 South, Summerland, BC on April 10th and April 11th, 2018 from 9-11 AM or 1-3 PM on each of these days. Growers will be required to take their assigned traps and lures with them when they leave the meeting.
An additional BCCA-run mandatory meeting will be held in April for independent growers who have submitted applications to take part in this program. The date and time are yet to be determined.
